Germany fact:

In most larger cities in the Netherlands, stores are always open on Sundays. In Germany, on the other hand, Sonntagsruhe is still a high commodity.
In Germany, everything is locked on Sundays. Except the biergartens, of course.

Just look at the percent of those who completely reject more frequent Sunday opening hours. These figures are from January 2024. The majority of the German population still rejects opening on Sundays.
