About Global Portable Security (GPS).
GPS is a business unit within Allegion that was created to bring together the expertise and strenghts of the 3 brands to maximize the potential of these three leading bicycle lock and light brands around the world. In addition to mobile security, the AXA brand also provides security for homes and buildings in the form of hinges, window releases, window locks, door hardware and access control systems.
The Veenendaal site (in the Netherlands) has a long and rich history, dating back to 1902. The basis for one of the two current successful core businesses is already established in the twenties, the forerunner of the present company started production and sales of hardware. Twenty years later, a ring lock for bicycles was introduced. This marks the start of a range of bike components, the second core activity as it is now. The product range of Bike Security contains bicycle locks, lighting products, IoT smart solutions and chainguards. Product development is done in-house by their own product and engineering team.
A part of their products is produced in their own factories which are located in Veenendaal (NL), Clamecy (F) and Zawiercie (PL).

The Lights:
Allegion offers a wide range of lighting products, from very powerful ''to see'' lights, to widely visible and safe ''to be seen'' lights. Besides conventional dynamo lights, they also offer lighting products that can be directly connected to an E-bike battery, or lights that are equipped with batteries. New to the range are the rechargeable lighting products, so you never have to change the batteries.

The role:
The Product Manager AM EMEA Lights is responsible for driving the success of the AM Product Portfolios and Roadmap with focus on EMEA markets for the brands Axa, Trelock and Kryptonite, through New Product Development Projects within the bicycle Light categories. He will lead multi-locational and cross functional teams to launch new products using a structured development process (PDP).
Project lead involves working with 3rd parties (suppliers, design agencies etc.) on projects to be launched for AM EMEA.
The Product Manager AM EMEA Lights is also responsible for coordinating product / project related requests linked to customized business.
He gives support to Sales and Marketing activities, contributing to reach the Revenue and Profit targets of the product group Lights GPS.
 
Essential Skills / knowledge:
·      Experience in new product development programs from concept to production using a structured process.
·      Proven problem-solving skills, techniques.
·      Excellent leadership and communication skills at all levels within the organization.
·      Tenacity in coordination of project team members to achieve program timelines and outcomes.
·      Self-starter with a desire to make a significant impact on the project execution, processes, and tools.
·      Courage to raise issues to upper management when a program is at risk.
·      Good understanding of consumer products and their development, ideally experienced in AM Portfolio segmentation by type of bike, sales channel, and consumer / buyer.
·      Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
·      Affinity to bicycle / outdoor sport industry appreciated, ideally experienced as a PM within the bike industry.
·      German and English language skills.
 
Education / work experience:
·      Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business
·      Ideally 5 years’ experience in New Product/Project Management, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience leading cross-functional teams
·      Experience in Product Development Processes (ex. PDP).
 
Core job responsibilities:
·      Works on updating AM Portfolios/Roadmap (all 3 brands) for all EMEA markets Lights.
This includes AM Portfolio segmentation by type of bike, sales channel, consumer / buyer.
·      Analyzes sales, profitability, and life cycles of existing products GPS, does market research (incl. competitor analyzes) and identifies trends in the market.
·      Makes proposals in a timely manner for adjustment, replacement, or deletion of existing products GPS, as well as their financial rehabilitation if needed, in collaboration with the Global Portfolio Manager Lights.
·      Works closely with Product Managers, Global Portfolio Manager and Sales Managers/Customers (incl. Decathlon) to capture product/project requirements, scope, and success metrics.
·      Takes overall project leadership for NPD projects, incl. responsibility for the PDP process. Leads a cross-functional team - Engineering, Design, Test, Finance, Operations, and other functions to establish project development strategy, schedule, product costs, budget, and resource needs.
·      Continuously tracks project activities, risks, and issues to ensure programs progress on schedule and within budget while meeting established customer requirements. Schedules and leads timely status review meetings, and formal project Reviews with Senior Management.
·      Works with other product/project managers on interdependencies with other simultaneous projects.
·      Is responsible for AOP growth for all AM Light Portfolios EMEA Lights.
·      Works with other Product Managers to contribute to improve internal product/project process.
·      Gives technical and commercial support to sales staff for existing lighting products GPS (ex. education, presentations, product information).
·      Provides support to Brand Management for Marketing activities.
·      Validates and supervises AM requests for modifications and variations of existing products Light.
·      Ability to travel up to 20%.
